Parking Lot Procedures

The safety of our children here at Plaza Vista is of the utmost concern. With almost 1000 students attending our school, it is vital that all community members are aware of, and comply with, the posted safety signs and parking lot procedures. At no time can you leave your car unattended at the drop-off zone in the parking lot (this is a fire lane and a red curb) or on Paseo Westpark’s drop-off .Please see below for a list of ideas to help alleviate traffic congestion and make your experience in our parking lot easier.

Parking Lot Policies & Procedures

  • There is NO PARKING in the drop-off zone. We have flexed the rule to accommodate the release of students and waiting in your vehicle for a short period of time (a few minutes) is allowed. However, if there is room in front of your car, pull all the way forward to drop-off/pick up your child. This will help alleviate the congestion in the drop-off zone. At no time can you leave your car unattended at the drop-off zone in the parking
  • All individuals MUST use the crosswalk located at the entrance to the parking lot.
  • Do not stop in the crosswalk area to load or unload passengers.
  • During high traffic periods in the morning, the path to the Catalyst Kids is closed due to the increased cross traffic and congestion it causes
  • When exiting the school, you may only cross in the blue cross walk area. The large potted plants are there as a safety barrier
  • Leaving the school you MUST turn RIGHT ONLY during the times that are marked.
  • You may NOT park in the cut-out area. At no time can you leave your car unattended. You may not double park in the cut-out area and we will not allow students to cross between two parked cars.
  • Del Trevi Road is marked private and is not to be used as a pick up/drop off area. Please respect our neighbors
  • Please refrain from using ‘STAFF’ parking spaces.

The above infractions are subject to fines ranging from $20 - $200 depending on the violation from the City of Irvine.

  • Please be patient and courteous! A school zone is not the place to be in a hurry or lose your cool! As adults we must demonstrate cooperation and care for our school community!
  • If you cannot find a legal place to park, you can park in the parking lot of our neighboring park located between Warner and the entrance to the school. Park there and meet your child at a pre-designated spot on campus.
  • Plan accordingly; if foul weather arrives, leave earlier for the unforeseen variables that may arise.
  • If you live within a 10 minute walk of the school and can do so, walk your children to and from school. It is not only good for them, but good for you as well. Make it your daily exercise opportunity

We understand the inconveniences that may arise from these above regulations, it is important to remember why they are there. When weighing drop off/pick up and parking lot inconveniences against the safety of our children, there is no argument. Please help make Plaza Vista as safe as it possibly can be.
